Behind the scenes – President Obama

As I stumbled my way around the internet this morning before an assignment, I came across a Flickr gallery that claims to be “The Official White House Photostream.” Anyhow, it chronicles Obama’s first 100 days in office, with many behind the scenes shots like the one above, shot by Pete Souza. Pretty neat stuff. Large size files are also available for download from the flickr stream as well….

I also spent this morning trekking through the woods on a sore ankle.  It was a pretty cool assignment, as I got to go to another relatively unknown place here in Austin.  Next time I’m bringing a pack mule and 4 assistants to carry my equipment though.  🙂  The story will be published in an upcoming edition of the Austin American Statesman, so keep your eyes peeled.

In other news, I just found out that the Texas UIL (the governing body for high school sports here in Texas) has postponed ALL high school athletic events due to the concern over the swine flu.  You can read about it HERE.  I can’t wait for the state championships to start again this year.  It is usually really nice outside and it brings out the best high school competitors…which always makes for great photos.
